RAG-Stiftung Investment Company acquires majority stake in the Dorsch Group

The RAG-Stiftung has acquired 70 percent of shares in the Dorsch Group through its investment company, RAG-Stiftung Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH.

The Dorsch Group is the largest provider of engineering services in Germany and as engineering consultants has outstanding expertise in the future-oriented infrastructure sector, giving it excellent growth perspectives. For RAG-Stiftung Investment Company, Dorsch is their second investment in the engineering consultancy segment, following the British consulting engineers, Pell Frischmann. This segment is one of the strategic investment fields of RAG-Stiftung Investment Company. Dorsch operates both in Germany and internationally, with its core markets being in the Arabian world, India and South-East Asia, which will enable RAG-Stiftung Investment Company to pursue its portfolio diversification on a regional basis.

Dorsch is an international owner-managed company with headquarters in Offenbach am Main that has expanded significantly over recent years to become one of the 100 biggest planning companies worldwide.
With 2,000 employees, Dorsch is Germany's largest engineering consultancy firm and a well respected partner in the international construction industry. It has won numerous awards for its outstanding projects and services.

The company focuses on very large-scale projects in the strong growth sector of infrastructure, including urban development, water, transport, the environment and airports. Mr Jürgen Röder has withdrawn from operative management with effect from today but will continue to offer his services to the Dorsch Group in an advisory capacity. Olaf Hoffmann will remain CEO of the company.
