New video: Expertise meets human solidarity in Jordan

Water and wastewater services for Zaatari Camp for Syrian refugees and for domestic households in Mafraq Governorate, Jordan

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, a Middle Eastern country with an area of 89,000 square kilometres and a population of around 10 million, belongs to the world's 10 most water-scarce countries.

Bordering Syria, Jordan is severely affected by the Syrian civil war with an influx of almost 1.4 million refugees.

Mafraq Governorate in Northern Syria is one of the most affected areas of Jordan hosting the largest number of refugees including the single largest refugee camp called "Zatari Camp". This influx has a severe impact on the already overstressed drinking water and wastewater services.

Within the scope of German Jordanian Development Cooperation Dorsch International Consultants has implemented two major projects in Mafraq Governorate during the years 2015 to 2018.
