Dorsch is continuously supporting the water supply company MWAUWASA in improving its operational and financial performance for almost two years. The consultancy services are primarily intended to ensure that the infrastructure investments of international financing institutions are managed sustainably. These are made financially feasible by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the French Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD).
For Example to ensure that the 150 new school sanitary facilities are used actually, Dorsch involved the parents of the schools in the financing and operation of the sanitary buildings.
A crowd funding approach ensures that the water charges are not paid by the empty municipal coffers, but by the parents.
The pupils now have access to drinking water at least in school and are able to take drinking water to their homes after school.
